I decided to try and recreate the play.com web site layout in Zen Cart. Just because I thought it might be a good way to show how flexible the Zen Cart template system can be. Plus it was a good excuse to not have to do my accounts :)

I managed to do the bulk of it by just altering the template files and installing a few plug-ins. I did need to cheat a little bit and alter 2 core files, but that’s about it.

I don’t think I can release it as a template as play.com might not be too happy, but I might be able to make enough alterations to it so it is not too much of a likeness. We’ll have to see, let me know if you have any thought’s on that. I’ll try get a working demo public soon, in the mean time here are the screen shots of what I’ve done so far:
