Getting the most out of Zen Cart
I decided to try and recreate the play.com web site layout in Zen Cart. Just because I thought it might be a good way to show how flexible the Zen Cart template system can be. Plus it was a good excuse to not have to do my accounts
I managed to do the bulk of it by just altering the template files and installing a few plug-ins. I did need to cheat a little bit and alter 2 core files, but that’s about it.
I don’t think I can release it as a template as play.com might not be too happy, but I might be able to make enough alterations to it so it is not too much of a likeness. We’ll have to see, let me know if you have any thought’s on that. I’ll try get a working demo public soon, in the mean time here are the screen shots of what I’ve done so far:
UPDATE #1: I’ve decided to work on releasing this template. Stay tuned for further updates.
UPDATE #2: See the Zen Natural template, based on this layout.

The reason I started this blog was because I've spoken to so many people who have setup on line, but are struggling for sales or people who want to get online, but don't know how to. Selling online is very difficult. It's competitive, pretty much no matter what you sell and it can be expensive to setup (and advertise). You can be selling the best products on the web, but it's pointless unless you get the visitors and they can use your site when they finally get there
