Getting the most out of Zen Cart
May name is Warren I live West Yorkshire in northern England. Building Zen Cart sites and selling online is just a hobby for me, but one I’ve enjoyed over the many years that I’ve been doing it.
I’ve used Zen Cart for about 5 years. In that time I’ve built 2 sites for myself (or should I say my girlfriend, so she can quit her 9-5). I’ve also built sites for friends and customers and I’ve learnt a lot! Not just about Zen Cart, but SEO and selling online.
The reason I started this blog was because I’ve spoken to so many people who have setup on line, but are struggling for sales or people who want to get online, but don’t know how to. Selling online is very difficult. It’s competitive, pretty much no matter what you sell and can be expensive to setup (and advertise). You can be selling the best products on the web, but it’s pointless unless you get the visitors and they can use your site when they finally get there.
I’ve spent an unknown number of hours, days and months reading articles and experimenting with sites to see what works and what doesn’t. What I learn ends up here. Some posts are just tips I’ve picked up about running Zen Cart, some about SEO and advertising and some are technical more in depth alteration I’ve made to my Zen Cart sites.
I hope over the coming weeks and months I will build up a great database of tips for you to use to try and get ahead of the competition.
I’ve tried other shopping cart systems and decided a long time ago that Zen Cart was the best. I’ve played with Oscommerce, CRE Loaded, CubeCart and many more, which are all OK but I felt Zen Cart had less bugs and more features (and plugins) to offer. I also found the Zen Cart community to be helpful and quick to resolve any issues that may arise with any bugs or security issues.
So that’s pretty much it. I hope you enjoy the site and I wish you every success with your online business.
Don’t forget if you have any stories about any of the tip you’ve used or you just need a little help do not hesitate to get in touch.
